Speaker: Chief Kenneth R. Janes
Investigation Division
Kenneth R. Janes, Chief of Detectives in the Investigation Division of the Pima County Attorney's Office, will be our speaker at both sessions. The Investigation Division consists of 24 highly skilled sworn Peace Officer Detectives who have jurisdiction throughout Arizona. These men and women provide professional investigative support services that range from complex murder investigations to supporting the innovative truancy program.
Investigative services consists of three separate units: Pretrial Services, consisting of detectives who assist the Criminal Division trial team with case preparation; Tactical Operations with detectives assigned to work various task forces and work groups, including cold cases; and the Bad Check Program, which has returned over five million dollars to victims of bad checks.
In the morning, Chief Janes will speak to us regarding the specifics of the investigative service units, and in the afternoon he'll discuss actual closed cases, of which one became a made-for-TV movie.
