Speaker: Susan Ginsburg

Literary Agent, Writers House

Literary agent Susan Ginsburg of Writers House will join us and lend her expertise in the publishing industry. Members and guests will have the opportunity to learn about submitting and pitching, and a limited number of members will have an opportunity to pitch their books to Susan.

Susan got her start in publishing on the editorial side as editor-in-chief of St. Martin's and Atheneum Books and Executive Editor of Pocket Books at Simon & Schuster, where she had the fortune to publish such wonderful writers as Alice Walker (The Color Purple) and John Irving (The World According to Garp). Her agenting career has spanned both fiction and non-fiction, and she works closely with all her authors editorially. She is always on the lookout for fiction—particularly, literary voices who have a great story to tell, filled with emotionally compelling characters—but would also love to see the commercial fiction, unique memoirs, and rich narrative non-fiction that she's enjoyed working with throughout the years. She's been with Writers House for 20 years and her clients include Jane Feather (Pocket Books), Laura Spinella (Berkley) and Sherrill Quinn (Kensington Brava).
